FAQs

On average it takes 2-8 weeks. Every client is different, and it will depend on your unique family criteria and schedule for interviewing.

Maternity practitioners set their own rates-usually on average between £220-£360 per 24 hours gross or for night rates on average £18-£25 per hour for a minimum of 10 hours working. We will notify you of their specific rate when we send through their information. The agency fee for maternity work is £100 per week or £30 per day, plus VAT.

There is a Registration Fee of £75 +VAT per role, to cover our time for parent interviews. This will be deducted if we place a candidate with you from your final invoice. For permanent Nanny placements, we charge 4 x weeks gross salary. If you are working solely with us we will charge you 4 x weeks net salary. For temporary placements we charge £100 per week or £30 per day. This also applies to maternity practitioner placements. Consultancy fees for introduction are a one off fee of £45. All fees will have VAT added as we are VAT registered.

We personally interview candidates in person, or via video call if that is not possible, asking them a series of questions to find out about their experience, skill set, personality and aspurations for the their career. We check their driving license, passport and or birth certificate, confirming their identity. We check their original qualification certificates. We check the validity of their DBS certificate and their First Aid Certificate. We check a minimum of 2 references to check their suitability for your role and to validate their employment history. We check their right to work in the UK.

On average Nanny salaries are between £15-18 gross per hour. If a Nanny is working a permanent position. they will be employed and the employer will be responsible for paying the Nanny's tax, National Insurance and pension. As an employer you will also be responsible to have public liability insurance. We highly recommend that you hire the services of a Nanny pay roll service to help you set up as an employer, set up pay slips and guide you through the process.

The Nanny industry is not regulated. It can be overwhelming sifting through CV's, and not really knowing where to start, and easy to choose the wrong person, and you can end up back where you started! Using a good Nanny agency can help support you through the recruitment process, guide you through what it takes to be a great employer. and save you time and effort by zooming in what your family's needs are and providing candidates that will be suited to your role.

If we have done our job correctly then this will be rare! However they are certain situations that are unavoidable. We will work closely with you to provide a further 4 profiles as a replacement free of charge. If this does not work out, we have a refund schedule dependant on what week the Nanny left, you will receive a percentage of your fee back.

We place permanent and temporary Nannies, 24 hour maternity practitioners, maternity night nannies and consultants specialising in troubleshooting for baby's routines, sleep, and feeding issues, as well as potty training and behaviour.

Yes, The Nanny Connection can complete an Enhanced DBS Check for Nannies for a fee of £55. The fee covers £52 to the umbrella company and a £3 admin fee.
